Part-time | Before & After School Care | Wallsend South
Wallsend South OOSH is a friendly, school-based Out of School Hours Care service providing a safe, fun and engaging environment for primary school children before and after school, and during vacation care.
We’re looking for a caring and energetic Assistant Educator to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality programs for children and families in our community.
About the role
In this role, you will work closely with the Coordinator and Educators to:
- Support the delivery of engaging, play-based programs for school-aged children
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children and families
- Assist with supervision to ensure a safe, inclusive environment at all times
- Help with setting up and packing away activities and resources
- Support children during snack/meal times and transition periods
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused work culture
This is a part-time position, typically worked across split shifts before and after school, with additional hours available during vacation care.
About you
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you:
- Enjoy working with children and creating fun, engaging experiences
- Bring a warm, patient and supportive approach
- Are reliable, organised and a good communicator
- Work well in a small team and are willing to pitch in where needed
Desirable (but not essential):
- Studying towards or holding a qualification in Education, Childcare, OSHC, Youth Work or similar
- Current Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training (or willingness to complete)
