Since 2009, Lake Mac Newy OOSH has been providing local families with quality, affordable child care. We are committed to delivering a safe, supportive environment for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.
We provide a ‘Today, Tomorrow’ program as we believe children live in the here and now. Our program is designed to respond to the current needs and interests of the children as well as reflecting contributions from our educators, families and our local community.
Each week we have opportunities for free play, arts and craft, sport, games, reading, and homework, as well as quiet times. Children will now be able to use computers and Apple iPad’s for further learning.
Safety is a priority at all our locations and we always have a qualified first aider on site. We have been rated as meeting all quality assessment areas by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority (ACECQA) so you can feel secure in the knowledge your child is in good hands.
All our locations provide before school, after school & vacation care
With over 18 years of experience in child care and as a proud mum to two adult children, I founded our first OOSH service in 2009. Since then, it has grown into Lake Mac Newy OOSH, a community built on the belief that families should feel confident knowing their children are cared for in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.
Much of my time is devoted to managing the business and administration of our services, but I also enjoy spending time with the children and staying connected to the heart of what we do.
Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, and you’ll often find me at the beach — my favourite place to unwind and recharge.
Both the business and educational sides of my role continue to inspire me, and I warmly invite you to visit our centres to experience the friendly, welcoming environment we’re so proud of.
Hi, I’m Mathew. I’ve worked in the OOSH sector for over 15 years and have grown alongside the services as we’ve expanded across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region. I began as an Educator and progressed through roles including Educational Leader, Coordinator, Multi-Service Leader and now General Manager.
My background is hands on and practical. I’ve worked directly with children and families, supported staff teams, and now oversee service operations, finances, compliance and quality improvement across multiple sites. I’m passionate about creating OOSH environments that are safe, welcoming and consistent where children can learn, connect and thrive.
I believe strong care comes from clear systems, collaborative team culture and open communication. My focus is supporting our leaders and educators to feel confident, capable and proud of the work they do every day.
With over 10 years of experience working with children, I bring a deep passion for supporting both young people and the educators who guide them. I’m committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can thrive, explore, and develop new skills.
I also take pride in mentoring and empowering staff, helping them grow in their roles so we can provide the highest quality care and learning experiences for every child in our community.
In my own time I value quality time with my family
With over 25 years in the OOSH industry, I bring a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for creating supportive, engaging environments for both our educators and children. I love seeing team members grow into their potential and children thrive while enjoying their OOSH time. I’m passionate about creating a friendly, supportive space where everyone feels welcome. When I’m not at work, I enjoy one extreme to another, from skydiving to coffee, anything that keeps life fun!

I love working with children because no two days are ever the same, and every moment is an opportunity to see them learn, laugh, and grow through play. Watching their confidence and friendships blossom is the best part of what I do.
I have worked alongside children for 6 years in childcare and OOSH. My passion is finding a creative side to everything. I love creating an inviting space for children to learn and grow. I specialise in arts and crafts and enjoy seeing the children make their imaginations come to life through different aspects of art. I desire to create a diverse cultural environment so all families and children feel welcome into our centre.
I am involved in creating a fun and enduring program for the children during BSC and ASC. And deciding, with the children, what their favourite breakfasts and afternoon teas are to add to the menu.
